    School Sport: Extra-Curricular

We like to offer lots of ways to enrich the curriculum. Some of these activities take place during the school day and others happen after school.

Year 5/6 netball - we played our first fixtures in the netball league and showed great teamwork and resilience in all 3 games that we played.

Cricket - KS2 students taking part in some batting practise in their cricket after school club.

KS1 and KS2 enjoyed having a specialist tennis coach come in and deliver some taster sessions.

Year 5/6 put on a great performance and showed excellent sportsmanship in our boys football fixture.

Panathlon 6.2.24 - Miss Jackson and Mr Jack took 7 pupils from across KS2 to take part in a Panathlon multi-skills event alongside 7 other schools at Pudsey Leisure Centre.

They joined in lots of different events and the aim was to score as many points as possible in a 7 minute time scale. Everyone tried their hardest and Rubie even scored the highest number of points on the bean bag throw! It was such a great afternoon and to top it all off, we came third place and we were awared with a Bronze medal and certificate! Well done everyone, you made Armley Park very proud!

Netball - year 5/6 loved playing in our first netball tournament at Dixons Unity.

They put into practise footwork, ball skills and communication in order to go 3 games unbeaten!

Netball - as part of our intention to increase children’s interest in a variety of sports, we took the children to watch 2 international netball games at the First Direct Arena. They had a great time watching England make it into the finals!

Bench ball - Our bench ball club members took part in their first tournament. They worked excellently as a team and represented Armley Park Primary School so well!

Bench ball - our first bench ball club included students practising their throwing and catching skills and then putting it into practise in a game.

Our Year 5/6 football team had their first game against Beecroft Primary School. Despite losing, the team showed excellent sportsmanship and worked brilliantly as a team.

Armley Running Club - I am super excited to be a part of the Armley Running Club. We are running around Gotts park every Wednesday lunch time in preparation for a park run.

    Rounders club!

Children from Years 1, 2 and 3 joined in a rounders after school club during the Summer 1 term. Wow, what a great team we had! The progress made in throwing, fielding, batting and catching was amazing. We all had the best time and even named ourselves Armley Monsters!
