Reception Autumn 1 2024 - Stars & Writers of the week

Week 8 - Focus Week: Express Yourself! For focus week, all children in Reception made up a story about themselves and read it to the rest of the class. We also performed a dance to EYFS and KS1 classes in the hall, what a great week!

Week 6 - In History this week we have been talking about babies and what they can and can't do.

We spoke about what we can do now and how we have grown. Lots of families shared babies photos and we have really enjoyed looking at them and trying to guess who it is! To launch our focus of babies, we had a special visitor in our class, Miss Jackson's 6 week old nephew Sonny! His Mummy brought him in and we talked about what he can do and we even got to watch him have a bottle of milk and burp! Sonny was a big hit in Reception and we continued to talk about him all week! In Maths this week, we have been exploring, continuing and creating our own repeating patterns.

Week 5 - Leeds Connect Challenge - Reception took part in the Leeds Connect Challenge in memory of Rob Burrows. We ran 7 laps of the ball area and helped to raise money for MND. Well done everyone!

Week 5 - In science Reception have been uses their sense of taste to try lots of different foods. We tasted foods that were sweet, sour, salty and spicy. Hmm, I'm not sure the sour lemons went down well!

Week 4 - In Maths this week we have been sorting, matching and grouping objects. We used pompoms and autumnal objects and sorted them by different rules.

Week 3 - Self portraits - This week, Reception have been busy in the creative area. We looked in mirrors at our faces and spoke about what features we have on our faces and what colours we could see. Everyone painted a self portrait and they are all so unique and show off our amazing painting skills.
