The Design and Technology (DT) curriculum at Armley Park prepares children to deal with tomorrow's rapidly changing world.
The DT curriculum encourages children to become independent, creative problem solvers and thinkers as individuals whilst working alongside others. It enables them to identify needs and opportunities and to respond to these by developing a range of ideas and by designing and making products.
The teaching of DT gives children the chance to evaluate products against the design brief, taking on board the views of others to improve their work which then enables children to understand that products are in a continual state of improvement and refinement.
Through the study of Design and Technology, the children combine practical skills with an understanding of aesthetic, social and environmental issues. This allows them to reflect on and evaluate past and present technology, it's uses and impacts.
