Welcome to the Year 3 Class Page!

Science- In Science we have been learning about how fossils are formed. The pupils worked collaboratively to recreate the fossilisation process.

World Book Day

Year 3 have been working hard this week. It has been our focus week. We have been learning all about loneliness and ways in which we can help others. After the half term holiday we will be visiting a local care home. We are going to take some stories that we have written and some colourful art work.

Science - we have been learning about forces and magnets this term. Here, students tested a variety of materials to see if they were magnetic or not.

Writing

In Year 3 we have been writing character descriptions about Mr Stink. Mr Stink is the main character in our class novel.

Art

We have been creating collages of ourselves.

History

In Year 3 we have been drawing images of Tutankhamen. We researched different Egyptian Gods and wrote facts files.We mummified peppers to learn how the mummification process happened in Ancient times.

History-Year 3 have designed and made their own Canopic jars. Egyptians used them to put organs in! We made them out of clay, some pupils chose to paint theirs to make them look more decorative.

In Science we have been learning about light. Pupils have learnt about different light sources and how this light is reflected. We have made predictions about how reflective a range of materials are. We have also learnt that the moon is not a light source and that it reflects light from the sun.
