Summer 2 2018 - Year 2

Wow, can you believe we are in the last half term already?! What a busy half term we have just had. Well done to Year 2 for completing their SAT's.
This half term in Geography we are going to be looking at Africa and comparing it to Armley. We will also link Africa into our art and we will be creating our own African art, how exciting! In Science we will be researching and working with different materials. Our Maths focus is going to be money and measures. In Literacy we will be writing non-chronological reports.
We hope you have had a lovely half term break and you all come back refreshed and ready to learn.

Thank you, Year 2 staff.

**SPECIAL REQUEST** Year 2 would really appreciate any parents/carers who are available to listen to readers. Please speak to a member of Year 2 staff if you are interested. Thank you :)
KS1 Trip to Stump Cross Caverns

Year One and Year Two have been caving! We took a coach all the way to North Yorkshire, and went to Stump Cross Caverns. We met the lovely people who ran the cave, and they told us all about it: - Did you know that the cave is even older than the dinosaurs? - Did you know that the cave was made by water? We also went on a fairy hunt - the caves had loads of fairy doors, and we even found the fairy's house! Do you think this might be where the tooth-fairy lives? We do! Have a look at our pictures and see if you can see some of the crazy shapes that the rock makes.

They will continue to have 'quick maths' tests to build their speed when adding and subtracting numbers up to 20 by mental recall.
